David Heilman, PLA
PROFESSIONAL LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT
Also known as a jack of many trades. Whether he’s designing landscapes, problem-solving on-site, or bringing creative visions to life, David has been helping our team at FlatLand make the world a little greener (and better planned) since 2012.
Already really smart, David got even smarter after earning a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from Ball State University (2012) and a Landscape Architect License in Indiana, and he blends all his expertise with a hands-on approach that keeps projects moving forward. If you’re looking for travel advice, David would point you to Patagonia and Amsterdam (sensible choices coming from a guy who says he’s most inspired when drawing doodles for his kid’s lunchbox).
One of his most unforgettable moments: Cheering like a madman in Cleveland, Ohio, along with 40,000 unhinged fans at an American League Championship Series game. And even though he’s a sucker for getting swept up in the moment, he always knows how to bring his feet back down to solid earth.
